APLA elects a new Executive Committee
On 12 October 2020, APLA held its first ever virtual Annual General Meeting. As all of us are aware, this year's Annual Regional Conference which would have coincided with the Annual General Meeting has been cancelled.
The Annual General Meeting was successfully concluded, thanks to the APLA Full Members who had appointed the Presiding Chair, Ms Sue van der Merwe, to act as their proxy to vote on all resolutions under consideration on their behalf.
Apart from approving the annual audited financial statements, next year’s financial budget and membership fees, the Meeting also elected a new Executive Committee, who will serve a 2-year term, until the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting in 2022
Ms Sue van der Merwe said that she and the Committee will consider what programmes can be developed for the benefit of members during the pandemic. She looks forward to the time when she can meet and interact with members in person.
